Have you thought of writing a book for your organization as a fundraiser or legacy piece?

I have been writing books for more than a decade. The motivation for my first book was money - I needed an infusion of quick cash to build my newly minted business - Single Again, A Practical Guide For Meaningful Connection was written in a week and people had it and a small workshop in their hands 6 weeks later. I used that cash to get a website built.

The motivation for the next 3 books was to share my wisdom with other business people. As a forced entrepreneur, veteran with a disability and a first generation success, I had things to share to help people build their own safety net though business.  Books like Money Mindset, Dreaming Big and Being Bold and Law of Attraction for the Skeptic, helped the reader understand the importance of mindset when it comes to success. Many of them took bold leaps in their businesses as a result.

I'm developing memoirs and legacy pieces now. These are a different type of book then the books I've written in past. Recently, while speaking with someone at the Royal Canadian Legion, I mentioned this legacy piece and how I thought it would make a great fundraiser for their organization. They thought that it was a great idea. I'm excited about this project. Communities are made up of great organizations - those stories need to be told to inspire future generations.

This will be the 4th time offering the Write the Book program. I will be writing alongside you this time as well. Wouldn't you love to have an editor-ready manuscript at the end of 12 weeks? Join me for this program and we will do it together.

This program is designed for you if...

  • You belong to an amazing community organization who feels inspired to leave a legacy piece by capturing your organizations story.
  • You believe that a book would make a wonderful fundraiser.
  • You want to join other like minded people on the writing journey because when we get together in a small group, the ideas start to flow.
  • You want access to the tried and true system that I have developed instead of building your own system.
  • You are a subject matter expert who appreciates that a book (or an e-book) will help you establish credibility in your industry.
  • You appreciate that when you're working with someone who has already done this 4 times, you're bound to learn from them.
  • You want to know how to write a proper proposal for a traditional publisher in case you want to go that route.
  • You write non-fiction. This program is not designed for character development.
  • You want to learn the self-publishing process.
  • BONUS: Debbie will share her strategy for book launches that has worked for her over the years.

Feedback Plus a Study Buddy!

You will be encouraged to partner up with a study buddy during the program. Writing as part of a team will really help you to challenge writer's block when it occurs. It also helps with idea generation. You're not in this alone. When you're stuck, Debbie will support you in getting unstuck.

Bonus Trainings & More!

Miscellaneous courses including Writing From An Outline or Mindmap and Preparing a Proposal for a traditional publisher and so many more. These and other bonus mini-trainings will support you at every stage of the process from idea to finished project and this time around, we will also talk about marketing.

Weekly Zoom Meetings

We will meet a weekly  - this is where the accountability & magic happens. Check in, course correct, set writing goals for the week and get a gentle nudge to get you  moving along with your project. You've got direct access to me - in person and ready to answer all of your questions.....................

Meet Debbie...

I believe that we make the world a better place when we share what we know with others.

I am a 4X published author, award winning mentor and sought after speaker and trainer. I use the "apprenticeship model" to share all of the lessons I have learned where the rubber hits the road. A diverse background - from mechanic to law school, nothing fires me up more than sharing what I have learned with others.

When vision loss took me out of the job market, I was forced to become an entrepreneur, a STEEP learning curve got me there. Now I share what I have learned with others.

When I'm not busy creating, I spend time with my family in Newfoundland and Labrador.
