#266 Feeling into the wish

Oct 09, 2022

Frankly, when I was introduced to the Law of Attraction, one area that I struggled with in the early days was the notion of "feeling is the secret" What did it mean exactly?

Let me break this down to show you my understanding. But first let me show my gratitude on Canada's Thanksgiving Day 2022 to Neville Goddard. We are so blessed to have these amazing teachers who dedicated their lives to teaching this material so that we could have that literature to build on.

Let's say you're trying to manifest more business just for demonstration purposes.  The very first step is to set the intention in the right format. Even though you have not achieved the goal yet, it is important that you write your intention in the present tense - as if it is already achieved.

"I am delighted to be coaching 4 amazing groups of women who are committed to building a relationship with the man of their dreams."

The assumption in the previous statement is that you already have these clients. The next step requires that you feel the feelings as if you're sitting around the boardroom table with this lively group of women and they're taking in every nugget of wisdom you're sharing. This statement and practice, if done correctly will cause you to get excited. This emotion will then impress the image onto the subconscious mind and start the process of attracting the real deal.

Call this feeling piece the primer. It's the starting position. You have to develop the discipline to remain in this state that feels like make-believe until you start to gain traction. It isn't enough just to write the statement. You must infuse it with emotion and that can be a struggle for those new to the practice. It takes effort in the beginning to suspend your disbelief.

Stick with me here. I write for the skeptic - if you break it down like this and understand what to expect, you will be able to use the hacks that I use to get past the doubt.

There will be doubt if you're new to this and there will be doubt if the goal is bigger than one you've asked for in the past. Doubt is a sign that you're ready for growth.

Feeling is where it all happens. Neville Goddard, a great contributor to this method, described it like this "Ideas are impressed on the subconscious through the medium of feeling. No idea can be impressed on the subconscious until it is felt, but once felt - be it good, bad or indifferent - it must be expressed." We're always attracting things into our lives. We're just not often intentional; when you learn to control the emotions, the magic happens.

So where do you start if you're a bit of a skeptic? What if your inner critic comes along and says "that's nonsense, you haven't achieved this go yet."

Here's how it rolls out for the skeptic.

You set the intention...and then.

We feel the resistance. We are realists and we know this is not the truth and our inner critic tries to bring us back to reality.

If we are wise, we reach out for help at this point and if you did, this is what I would share.

Expect the critic.

Find the hacks that work.

Tell yourself that it is a lie in transition to becoming a truth. This can help to massage the statement past a tough inner critic.

Do whatever it takes to get to the stage of feeling the feeling. I can't stress this enough.

Reason being - the magic happens in day dreaming. Let's look at what happens when you're day-dreaming. You're thinking about that room filled with clients and in your minds' eye, you're already there. You see Susan asking the question about why she attracts a certain man. You see Mary sharing how the technique worked for her and how much she is enjoying the coaching. You see Lorna, nearing the end of her program and asking how she can continue working with you. You have achieved the goal. Your intention has been given form in the material world.

It starts with the feeling of the goal achieved. That's a skillset. Imagination is a higher faculty and one that leaves us as we get older. Learning to imagine with emotion has been a glorious part of aging for me. Life has become more exciting and the possibilities for future have been amazing. It can work for you too because this is where it all begins - feel into it. You can learn at any stage.

It starts with a strong statement.

I have ten new clients is better than I will have ten new clients. The latter dampens the mood. The former may cause you to doubt but you can you can use the hack to get past it.

Goddard adds "what you feel you are always dominates what you feel you would like to be." It's the feeling that attracts the opportunity. Try the process and let me know how you make out.

Have an awesome day.
