#220 Not everyday is rosy - dealing with stress that could impact your business.

Jan 06, 2020

Are you struggling with an event in your personal life that is impacting your professional life? Emotional pain needs to be processed and no matter what people say about mixing your personal life with your business life, you've got to find a way to strike that balance.

Back in the 80s when I was in the military, I was good at compartmentalizing but it really hurt me in the long run.  I've learned along the way that we need to process the things that are happening in our personal lives so that we can maintain our emotional well-being. We can't flick our emotions on and off that easily and if we can, it is not healthy for us.

So if you're dealing with something at home that may impact your business, don't be afraid to discuss it with the people who matter. I always have a bit of depression in January so I limit the amount of work that I do at this time of year. I discuss my reality with clients. No one thinks less of me.

How do you protect you? Do you have a plan in place? A safe place to vent?

Wishing you well.
